We’re all familiar with the phrase, “My 4, and no more”. It’s a mindset we know is unlike God, but one that we often live by, if we aren’t intentional about fighting the tendency to be self-oriented—even as families. God’s design for family has always been that we are fruitful and that we multiply (Gen.1:26-29, 9:1,7). Fruitfulness and productivity are about more than just reproduction in the physical. We, as a family, should be an asset to our community, our church, and to society as a whole. We should be establishing Kingdom Culture everywhere we go and everywhere we are connected; whether it be at work, on a ballfield, in a salon, or at the convenience store. To be fruitful and productive, and to make a lasting difference in our world, we must be connected to others! We must find places to intersect with and to impact people with the love, mercy, grace, and forgiveness of Jesus Christ. We are made in His image and as we allow His image to be realized in our individual lives and in the life of our family, then, we will see fruitfulness and eternal impact made in the lives of others that God allows our path to intersect with. So, get out there! As a family, be a productive part of society where you live and in your community. Establish Kingdom culture everywhere you go. YOU bring the joy, love, peace, and righteousness of God with YOU! Make connections that make a difference for others and in that, you’ll see your own life enriched! In Kingdom life, it really is about more than “my 4 and no more”!
